I’m Victor Minichiello.
I joined the Lincoln Institute back in 1987 as a Lecturer in the School of Behavioural Sciences. It was a vibrant place, the top spot for training health professionals in Victoria. We were pioneers in launching a multi-disciplinary postgraduate program in Gerontology. With my fresh PhD in ageing, I was thrilled to be part of such an exciting opportunity and make an impact nationally.
The Institute is very dear to me. It was where my career began, and the valuable skills and opportunities I gained, along with the incredible and talented colleagues I worked with, inspired me to establish a medical school at UNE and work as a collaborator team player. It is where I learnt that breaking down disciplinary barriers is essential for problem-solving.
